COMMENTS FROM SITE VISITORS

Greetings from China,

You have a good web site.  I am so disappointed in how Republicans are treating their libertarian wing, i.e. Rudy Giuliani, I am on the verge of no longer referring to myself as a Republican.

Bill Waters, Houston, TX

You have a very interesting website...keep up the activism.

Matt Peters, Elections Chairman

Libertarian Party of Alaska

Eric, we luv ya too (especially for founding the RLC and rebuking Ron Paul), but it's odd that you'd criticize Huckabee for not being libertarian when you're backing Giuliani, who is pro-gun control.

I don't agree with Huckabee's position on the smoking ban but a libertarian argument can be made in its favor. First, he's not in favor of banning cigarettes, rather he's only in favor of banning smoking in public places (excluding restaurants and bars) because secondhand smoke can be harmful. This is consistent with the classic libertarian principle that "your freedom to swing your fist ends at the tip of my nose" -- likewise, "your freedom to smoke a cigarette ends at my lungs" so a person should have every right to smoke in private, but perhaps not in public.

Again, I don't agree with this policy, but a libertarian case can be made and it's certainly not a deal-breaker, nor does it come close in importance to, say, second amendment issues.

Best,
Jason Bedrick, NH State Rep.

This is the site I was looking for!
I have a HARD time trying to convert my brothers-in-arms when they do a search and the first thing they see about the LP is the anti-war stance.  I have had to start referring them to Neal Boortz' website.  I am glad that I have another link to send them to now! The people that I work with need no encouragement to support freedom--All of us already do.  We just want to keep
America free.

You articles are well-written, and even though I may not agree with everything, I've learned a lot about libertarianism.

Thanks for contacting me about our proud achievement of getting a solid Libertarian elected. Our colleague and friend, Doug Burlison, will be on the Springfield, Missouri City Council for the next four years, bringing with him a firm committment to fiscal conservativism and limited governance.
